Many clients prefer to package and store resin off-site, eliminating the costs associated with bagging and boxing machinery and related equipment, as well as staffing requirements within their own resin producing plants. When working with UnitedDC, the resin is shipped to us via rail car or bulk truck, in pellet or powder form, and transferred to one of our packaging facilities. We store the packaged product in our warehouses until it is distributed.
UnitedTrans provides The UnitedCompanies’ clients with convenient, dependable, in-house drayage service for hauling export product in both 20’ and 40’ containers from The UnitedCompanies packaging and warehouse facilities to Barbour’s Cut, Bayport, and all Houston area ports and rail ramps. We use a team of highly qualified owner operators driving late model tractors on an exclusive basis.
UnitedTrans also owns a fleet of UltraLite™ tractors specially designed by UnitedTrans management and our truck manufacturer’s team for the specific purpose of safely and legally hauling heavy containers from our facilities to the ports. These tractors enable us to transport up to 24.5 MT net of packaged product in 40’ containers. Tractor operators are highly trained and dedicated full time UnitedTrans employees.
Our drop yard, located near both Barbour’s Cut and Bayport Terminals, allows us to maximize use of our specialized equipment and drivers. We can forward-store ocean containers around-the-clock at the drop yard and subsequently bring accumulated loads into the Port quickly during operating hours.
We currently offer hauls to and from specific locations within approximately 100 miles of Houston and have plans to expand this range in the near future. We are willing to work with clients in all locations to provide specific drayage needs. We offer very competitive rates and customized, convenient service.
Some clients elect to retain packaging and product-handling functions inside their own plants. The UnitedCompanies coordinates with all departments of our clients’ operations—production, quality control, sales, scheduling, and transportation—to manage and staff their unique processes. We provide specialists to perform all processes, top to bottom.
